RM-WG<>RS232-2:Wiegand-RS232 DB9
-Size: 90mm x 45mm x 35mm
-Net Weight: about 30g
-Operating voltage: DC 9V-12V (can get power from access controller direct, but must connect with its GND)
-RS232: max 10m
-Wiegand: max 100m

Communication Format:
To transmit data from converter to the computer (like DB9 COM port) through the RS232 communication interface the following terminal parameters should be set: Baud rate: 9600, Bit: 8, Parity: no, Stop bits: 1 Check data output by computer software, there have two mainly application for data transfer:
Before testing the converter, please check the converter communication interface and connected device interface (for example: barcode scanner), and make sure the communication parameter suit with converter.
1). your barcode scanner must have RS232 interface for communication, and check its baud rate, must set as 9600;
2). you can download our RS232 testing software by this link: http://www.wincontrols.com/Support/Download/index_4.html 3). Connect WG converter WG port to access controller WG input interface, usually D0 to D0,D1 to D1, GND to GND, +12V to power+12V 4). Most access controller support WG26bit or WG34bit,wiegand66bits, but some of them not support both, so in case there have other WG format, please try to check out exact bit and response to our sales for make special upgrade.
5). WG34bit support max 32 digit data, that is to say 4 byte hex 0xFF 0xFF 0xFF 0xFF (Decimal number 4,294,967,295), so our converter WG output data range must in 0 to 4,294,967,295, over this range there have mistake to show. This means the barcode number can accept the same range.
6). Converter only transfers number, and words shall be ignored, for example:
Barcode read data: "123ABC456", converter transfer only: "123456"
"ABC123ABC456" converter transfer only: "123456"
"ABCDEFG123456789" converter transfer only: "123456789"
"http://domain.com/ticket/ID&-abcdef12345678" converter transfer only: "12345678"
"A1B2C3D4E5F678G" converter transfer only "12345678"
If you have any special requirement, we can made special order for support upgrade when it is acceptable.
1. Transfer Wiegand output data to RS232:
In this application, request transfer Wiegand output data to host via our converter, for example RFID reader,
Barcode scanner, fingerprint reader, face identify machine and any other devices have Wiegand output.
Usually it output Wiegand 26bit or 34bit, 66bits,so you can connect this device with our Wiegand input, and the converter shall transfer to our RS232 interface.
Most time, RFID reader output Wiegand output as HEX, for example 4 byte number: 1010795316 = (hex) 3C3F8334 WG26 input (hexadecimal) 3F8334 WG34 input (hexadecimal) 3C3F8334 So output ASCII like this:
1010795316 for Wiegand 34bit (3C3F8334)
06333588 for Wiegand 26bit (3F8334)
0D 0A is a carriage return Wiegand 26bit or 34bit data output transfer to our converter, our converter output max 10 digit ASCII number.
For example: 1234567890, over this, the data shall send out separate.
2. Transfer ASCII output data to Wiegand output In this application, most customers transfer data from their own software, for example, sending 1234567890 from COM to our RS232 input interface, so our Wiegand output interface shall output data as Wiegand 34bit,
connect to access controller, you can see access control software show a card number: 1234567890. The same application, if a barcode scanner connect to access controller via our converter, so when the barcode scanner output 11223344, so the access control software shall show 11223344.
